The ABI Sports Network and RIO URUGUAY TV are currently in talks about
broadcasting ABI league games in Uruguay for this upcoming season.  Commissioner
Toney has also been in talks with WAYE Radio, a local radio station in Birmingham,
Alabama, about broadcasting games for the Gladiators as well.  "The next two weeks,"
Commissioner Toney said, "will bring in both television and radio stations from around
the United States, and worldwide, for ABI Basketball Games.  Since the ABI will play the
upcoming season in stages, teams in Europe are wanting to participate as well.

AUGUST 25, 2009
Commissioner Toney announced that the league has invited Christopher King, a 6'7"
small forward from Wake Forest University, who was selected by the Seattle
SuperSonics in the 2nd round (45th pick overall) of 1992 NBA Draft.  He was a member
of the Vancouver Grizzlies' during the team's inaugural season (1995-96) for whom he
played 80 of 82 games, averaging 7.9 points and three rebounds per game.  His final
appearance in the league was in 1998-99 with the Utah Jazz.  King has played
professional basketball overseas on several teams.  There will be several more former
NBA players announced soon.  "This is a good move for the league to have veteran
players coming in to help the younger players out and help the league as well," said
Commissioner Toney.  Each team, in the ABI,  will have a former NBA player on it's
roster,  which will make the league that much more competitive.

AUGUST 19, 2009
Commissioner Toney said that there are contract talks between several Nigerian
basketball players, including: Oludare Borokini (24 years old) 6'8"  240 lbs power
forward,  Onyeka Onwuha-ekpete 6'8" 250 Power Forward, Awere Cyril 6'11" Center,
Akintude Moses Akin 6'7" 225 Small Forward.  These players will be attending the ABI
International Players Camp in September for evaluation.  Commissioner Toney said
that there are players contacting the league office every day now.

AUGUST 6, 2009
The Gladiators have invited Darryl Wilson, Gabe Feagin, Monyea Pratt, Frank Holmes,
Lawrence Kinnard, and Jeff Collins to the team veteran camp, providing they're still
available during this time.

Commissioner Toney said that the league will begin talking with the Chinese officials
about 6'9 swingman Zhang Nan, 6'9 swingman Qin Hua, and post player 6'10 Li Meng,
and 6'1 point guard Ma Chan.  These players, with their individual style of play, would
be very good for the league.  There will be players from all around the world playing
this season as we are set to bring some of the best basketball games to the southeast
and southwest United States.
